Lion FPG are a highly successful print management company, supplying the vast majority of the printed material requirements to their Blue Chip customers.

To satisfy the requests of a number of their major customers, Lion FPG had to be able to accept orders for their stationery products on-line, rather than through the traditional telesales process.Each customer had a unique range of supplies it purchased from Lion FPG, with associated unique prices. Details of orders, products, box quantities and prices were held on a series of spreadsheets and the requirement was for staff to be able to continue maintaining the information in this way.
A system was developed to enable large trade customers to go to an area of the Lion FPG web site and login using a unique username and password. They were then taken to a secure area of the web site where they could view only the products they regularly ordered, along with the prices that they paid. Using a bespoke shopping cart system, orders could be placed and amended, delivery requirements entered and finally transmitted securely, with customer authorisation, to Lion FPG for processing and fulfilment.
Further, we provided Lion FPG with a facility for managing their customer products and prices offline, using their existing spreadsheets, and upload them to the online database, to add and change information, at the click of a button.
As a result of the system, which was launched in January 2002, Lion FPG has been able to retain existing customers and win new ones, resulting in a fast payback of their investment costs.
